Welcome to the Defend and Extend Medicare site

The Governments changes proposed for Medicare will create a two tier health care system that will see an explosion in health care costs for non concession card holders and the development of a second rate system for concession card holders.

Most people will be worse off. You will most probably be worse off, and with your health on the line we must all make these changes a major federal election issue.

Herald Sun Scandal

In an attempt to redress the material in the Herald Sun articles dated the 5th, 6th and 8th of December Defend and Extend Medicare Australia Have embarked on a multi-pronged attack to counter the misrepresentations contained in these articles. Currently we have been able to initiate investigations that have included:

- The Privacy Commissioner
- The Ombudsman (Victoria)
- The Inspector General of Intelligence and Security (Federal)

As we send and receive material we place it on our web site to let our supporters know what is going on. Once we have exhausted all our options we will be in a position to take civil action in the courts. It is important that the association between the Murdoch Press, this countries intelligence agencies and Tony Abbott are exposed so that this type of attack is not launched against other activists.
